You're not going to believe this, but it's true!

As I was getting ready to head in to the store today the phone rang.It was one of my local wholesalers claiming he had CB maculosus angels and CB bumblebee groupers. Now these are both large species and to the best of my knowledge, neither had been raised in captivity. So I asked my salesperson to check with the owner re: whether these were actually CB or simply TR (captive bred is a whole lot different than tank raised btw). The answer came back that they were truly tank raised. Believing this to be a near impossibility, I went over to look anyway and although I can't swear to it, it looks like he's right. There is a certain look of uniformity in batches of CB fish that you rarely see in wild juveniles or TR (where there tends to be a greater spread of sizes) So the store is now the proud posessor of six 3" bumblebee groupers and 6n maculosus which are all at 2"-2.5". I'm gonna pursue this and if it all stacks up right, it may well be in a future issue of the magazine.
